The 17-year-old suspect was detained on Friday evening in Sau Mau Ping. The arrest came a day after a 16-year-old boy was found unconscious by his mother at their home in Heng Fa Chuen, Chai Wan, and later died at Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital.

Sources said the arrested teenager and the deceased were friends. The 17-year-old boy had visited his friend’s flat in Heng Fa Chuen on Thursday.

Police said they seized two e-cigarette cartridges, around 14 grams of suspected cannabis, suspected liquid methamphetamine and a filter from the Heng Fa Chuen flat.

“They are believed to be related to the case,” the force said.
