A source said on Saturday that a colleague of the man had contacted the force at about 5.40pm the day before.

The colleague told officers that the man, a Hong Kong resident of Thai ethnicity, had been working at the construction site on Castle Peak’s Fraser Road in the New Territories before he reported feeling unwell.

He was then taken to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment, but was confirmed dead later that evening.

The source said the man’s cause of death had yet to be determined, and that the police’s investigation was ongoing.
