The force received a report at around 11am on Wednesday from a Housing Department employee who found the man’s remains in the bathroom of the flat, located in Shek On House of Shek Lei (I) Estate in Kwai Tsing.
“Officers have collected the skeletal remains for further examination. The man’s cause of death will be determined after an autopsy,” police said.
In February, officers discovered a 78-year-old man dead in his public home at Tip Ying House of Butterfly Estate in Tuen Mun. His 44-year-old son, who has an intellectual disability, was found next to him in a disturbed mental state.
In August last year, the bodies of a bedridden 82-year-old Hong Kong woman and her 60-year-old son were found in their flat in Kwun Tong, with investigators believing there was no one to take care of her when he died, the Post learned.
