Senior Inspector Ho Ho-ting, of the force’s narcotics bureau, said on Saturday that officers had raided a warehouse in Ta Kwu Ling on Friday afternoon, apprehending one man who was unpacking goods inside and another allegedly keeping watch outside.
The warehouse measured about 2,000 sq ft and contained 780 boxes of miscellaneous goods. Upon searching, officers discovered 48kg (106lbs) of suspected cocaine inside the boxes.
“The cocaine were packaged with airtight bags to conceal what they were,” Ho said.
Both men were immediately arrested.
