The 37-second dashcam clip, which circulated widely online on Tuesday, captured a car speeding along Fan Kam Road in Sheung Shui, repeatedly accelerating and braking, with the man gripping the windscreen.

Online reactions ranged from shock to amusement, with many internet users comparing the action of the man – who hung on for about 10 minutes over 5km – to actor Jackie Chan’s stunts in the film “Police Story”.

Police said that they arrested two men and a woman from the vehicle for drug-impaired driving, dangerous driving, common assault and possession of dangerous drugs.

According to a police source, the man on the windscreen reported the incident on Monday morning. He was believed to be in a relationship with the woman arrested.

The couple were said to have argued after shopping at a convenience store on Sun Cheung Street in Sheung Shui at about 8am on Monday.

The woman then called two male friends to pick her up. When the car arrived, she got in with the two men, but her boyfriend attempted to stop her by climbing onto the bonnet.
