The driver, surnamed Lo, was behind the wheel of a double-decker bus on Citybus route 967 when the incident happened on Monday near the Tai Lam Tunnel in Yuen Long.
In a voice message released by the franchised bus company on Thursday, Lo said he was eager to see his passengers as soon as possible.
“I have been discharged from the hospital now; I am very thankful for all the concern from the public. Thank you so much,” he said.
“There is nothing serious about my condition. I can leave the hospital, which is something that the doctor has approved and thinks is OK. I just have to be careful about walking too quickly.”
