On January 7, 2018, the South China Morning Post reported that a government-funded geological survey had discovered a nuclear bunker built for the top leaders of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), along with their staff, military personnel, and other workers. This bunker is hidden in a limestone cave over two kilometers underground, located beneath extremely hard and thick rock layers. The limestone caves are said to be comparable in depth to the world’s deepest cave in Georgia, the Krubera Cave, which reaches about 2,200 meters deep.
