Sources confirmed to the Post that he was in Hong Kong. His appearance has featured prominently in promotional materials for a Filipino workers’ event at Wan Chai’s Southorn Stadium on Sunday.

A Post reporter observed his daughter, Vice-President of the Philippines Sara Duterte, walking into the venue during the morning.

The event, titled the “Pasasalamat kay PRRD with OFWS (Overseas Filipino Workers)”, will run from 9am to 5pm.

Hundreds of people lined up outside the stadium from as early as 8am to catch a glimpse of the former president, with the queue stretching along the nearby Johnston Road.
