Police said they had received multiple reports at around 10.15am that a fire had erupted at a construction site opposite the Sogo Department Store on Concorde Road.

The blaze was put out at 10.58am, the Fire Services Department said.

The fire occurred at the site of the under-construction rehousing project Casa Delight, which also encompasses KEyPoint shopping centre, both of which are projects by public housing supplier Hong Kong Housing Society.

In a reply to the Post, the society said the fire started at a storage site for construction materials, with no one near the scene at the time.

“The Housing Society will cooperate with relevant departments on the investigation. It is preliminarily estimated that the incident will not affect the progress of construction,” it said.

The housing project is expected to have more than 2,100 flats for settling residents of Chun Seen Mei Chuen impacted by the redevelopment efforts in the area. Some homes are also set to go on the market as subsidised housing.
