F-35B: A Nightmare for the CCP’s Aircraft Carriers and Warships

On a foggy night over the South China Sea, an F-35B stealth fighter quietly took off from the shadow of an uninhabited island, skimming low over the water. Radar screens remained blank, unable to detect even a faint signal. 500 nautical miles away, China’s aircraft carrier Fujian was cruising at ease, with the fleet commander casually sipping tea and chatting. Suddenly, two AGM-158C Long Range Anti-Ship Missiles (LRASM) roared in like predators, tearing through the fog just 10 meters above the sea. The shipborne radar remained silent, air defense missiles were inactive, and within moments, the carrier’s bridge was engulfed in flames. This was not a Hollywood blockbuster but a real-world scenario envisioned by the U.S. military. In January 2025, the F-35B successfully completed tests carrying the LRASM, sharpening a weapon designed specifically to counter China’s naval fleet.
