Multiple counties reported issues with voting machines and systems on Nov. 3, the day of the midterm elections.
Problems cropped up in counties in Florida and New York, and Georgia officials said they were working to correct an issue that occurred during early voting.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said in a video statement that there was a countywide issue “where the ballot is not going through the scanner.”
For now, officials said, ballots are being placed in emergency bags that will be secured and monitored until they can be scanned.
“The Westchester Board of Elections wants to reassure every voter that your vote matters, your ballot will be secure and your vote will be counted,” the board said.
New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a post on X that her office is monitoring the issue.
“Westchester voters can still safely fill out and turn in their ballots at their polling locations,” she said. “Your votes will count.”
Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) and his opponent, Cait Conley, a Democrat, said in statements that voters should stay in line and vote.
“Every ballot will be counted,” Lawler, who represents part of the county, said on X. “We are working with the board to make sure.”
Broward County
Technical issues delayed voting on Tuesday morning in Broward County, Florida, local outlets reported.
Problems cropped up at several locations, including Sunset Lakes Community Center and Coconut Palm Elementary School, according to WPLG-TV.
WSVN reported a systemwide issue that affected polls for between 10 and 15 minutes, but polls have since been running smoothly, the broadcaster reported.
The Broward County Supervisor of Elections did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The polling location at Paradise Village Clubhouse in Davie was moved due to flooding. People were told to go to Tree Tops Park instead, which is also in Davie.
The polling location originally located at Mullins Park-Sartory Senior Center in Coral Springs was also shifted to Mullins Hall in Coral Springs.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday declared an emergency in multiple counties, including Brevard and Highlands counties, due to weather affecting the state, including flash flooding.
Fulton County
In Georgia’s Fulton County, which covers most of Atlanta, officials said Tuesday that two scanners failed during early voting.
A scanner at the Mechanicsville Library stopped working properly on Oct. 21 when a voter in a wheelchair rolled over its power cable, Nadine Williams, the county’s director of elections, said in a memorandum obtained by The Epoch Times.

A scanner at the Hugh C. Conley Recreation Center on Oct. 26 displayed a paper jam error, even after officials confirmed there was no jam, according to the memorandum.
The difficulties affected about 1,069 ballots, it said.
Staffers advised that the memory cards from the first scanner should not be uploaded because the data may be corrupted, so all ballots will be scanned on a separate scanner, Williams said.
The memo stated that the memory cards from the recreation center scanner should be transferred to a different scanner on election night.
Williams plans to meet with the county elections board later Tuesday to discuss the issues.
