The so-called “Joint Sword-2024A” Chinese encirclement drill around Taiwan was nothing but a bluff. Military spokespeople confidently said the exercise aimed to test “joint seizure of power, joint strike, and area control” capabilities. However, the drill turned into an “empty fort strategy.” The main forces went “missing,” destroyers were absent, landing ships were nowhere to be seen, and air force fighters operated independently. This sham exercise showed the lack of reliability of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
