GREENVILLE, S.C.—The special Republican primary election to replace the late Lindsey Graham as South Carolina’s Senate nominee has narrowed.
Graham’s sister, current Sen. Darline Graham (R-S.C.), and Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C) will advance to an Aug. 25 runoff.
As of 9:07 p.m., with approximately 83 percent of the vote counted, Graham had 32.6 percent to 24.1 percent for Norman. Rep. Russell Fry (R-S.C.) fell short, coming in third with 20.4 percent of the vote.
At its early stages, the race for second teetered back and forth between Fry and Norman. Later in the evening, big gains for Norman in upstate South Carolina—some of it in his home district, South Carolina’s Fifth—cemented a decisive lead over Fry….
