The Hong Kong edition of one of the world’s largest electronic dance music festivals, Creamfields, has been cancelled despite being set to take place just next month.

Creamfields announced the decision on a social media account for its Hong Kong audience on Monday, without specifying a reason.

But in a separate post on a mainland Chinese social media platform, organiser Live Nation said the cancellation was due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

The festival, scheduled for March 8 and 9 at the Central Harbourfront, was earlier promoted as a mega-event by the Tourism Board. The advertisement for Creamfields on the board’s website has been removed.

“It is with regret that Creamfields Hong Kong 2025 scheduled to take place on 8th and 9th March 2025 has been cancelled. All customers will be issued with a full refund on tickets purchased. You don’t need to do anything,” Live Nation said.
