CMS continues HK funds practice expansion with partner appointment

International law firm CMS has hired Helen Wang as a partners in its funds practice in Hong Kong from Mayer Brown, where she had been counsel from November 2021 to September 2024, according to he rLinkedIn profile.

Wang’s practice focuses on all aspects of the formation, maintenance and restructuring of investment funds, including private equity funds, hedge funds and hybrid funds. Wang advises asset managers, banks, state-owned enterprises, professional trustees and fund administrators, as well as family offices and startups, across the Asia Pacific region in Hong Kong, mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and Australia.

Wang (pictured) is a member of the education committee of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) and the technical committee of the Hong Kong Venture Capital Association (HKVCA).

She joined Quarry Bay-based CMS earlier this month, after Paul Moloney joined CMS in the summer from Mayer Brown as partner, funds and indirect real estate, and Gigi Ma joined as senior associate in the same division, also from Mayer Brown.
