The video shows a crowd gathering as the woman tearfully recounts her experience. After it was uploaded to social media it quickly gained attention, even trending on China’s influential platform, Weibo.
A source who assisted in sharing the video revealed that the woman’s deposit didn’t have a certificate of deposit. The bank employee had privately converted her fixed-term deposit into bonds. If there had been a deposit certificate, there wouldn’t be an issue. However, the bank denies its staff is at fault.
