We’ve been blaming foreigners all along, but as we go through life, we realize that the ones mistreating us are actually our own people. It seems like if we stopped hurting each other, no one else would dare to take advantage of us. Just compare foreign companies to local factories—those that follow labor laws are the foreign ones, while many domestic factories ignore the rules. When you think about it, that’s exactly what’s happening. Weren’t we supposed to look out for each other? But instead, many local factories knowingly break the law, treat labor disputes as civil matters, and take advantage of workers who can’t afford to fight back. They don’t see frontline workers as people at all. In the end, all I want to say is that we should treat our own people better.
