Chinese Jets Intercepted by Japan; China-Japan Tensions Escalate as Japan Shifts to Offense

On October 20, following the Chinese military’s H-6 bomber and fighter jets crossing through the Miyako Strait, they launched extensive reconnaissance missions over a chain of Japanese islands including Miyako, Tarama, Ishigaki, Taketomi, and Yonaguni, extending operations to Taiwan’s eastern waters. By the 28th, their tactics shifted northward toward the Okinawa Islands, deploying anti-submarine aircraft to survey areas around where their carrier had previously conducted exercises.
