Chinese High School Erupts as Students Protest, Tearing Books and Shouting Anti-ccp Slogans

On March 8, 2025, students at Ruzhou No. 1 Senior High School in Henan Province staged a protest. The protest was triggered when school officials tried to make students sign a “voluntary” application to attend weekend make-up classes on Saturdays and Sundays. This angered the students, who tore up their textbooks and demanded to go home.
Videos from the scene show thousands of high school students gathered in the hallways of the school, throwing torn-up textbooks and study materials into the air like snowflakes. The floor was covered in paper, and the students, clearly excited, chanted together, “Go home! Go home!”
