Power Slap is a global competition which features two opponents taking turns slapping each other in the face. It was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on October 31.
In the first round, China’s Zhao Honggang was left with a bleeding brow and a swollen right eye after his rival Muhammad Amantaev from Kazakhstan hit him, the Red Star News reported.

In the third round, he was knocked out and lost consciousness, and the event’s medical team diagnosed a broken cheekbone and a wound which needed five stitches.
“I just had some stitches around my eye socket. The imaging examination showed that I did not have a cerebral concussion. I am fine now. Thank you for your support,” Zhao told his fans on social media hours after the competition.
Zhao, 35, is the first person from China to take part in the contest.
