A flood and landslide occurred on the China-Nepal border, causing a rare event where a cross-border bridge built with Chinese aid was completely washed away.
According to state media reports, surveillance footage showed that the flood was not very large, but the bridge suddenly broke and collapsed on its own.
On July 8th, around 5:45 AM, the Donglin Zangbu River in Jilong County, Tibet, rose rapidly, destroying the Resuo Bridge, also known as the China-Nepal Friendship Bridge. Eleven people went missing on the Chinese side, while six Chinese construction workers were reported missing on the Nepalese side.
