China’s State Monopolies Falter, Growing Worker Movements Increasingly Frighten the CCP

This incident occurred in late May. Workers transporting liquefied gas in Changsha launched a massive strike because they were dissatisfied with the monopoly in the industry, which had significantly reduced their income. The trigger for this strike was a conflict on May 11th, in the Furong District of Changsha, where several gas delivery workers from Hengda Jiangwan stopped the delivery of gas by Meiqi Duo company.
