The intelligence alliance known as the “Five Eyes,” which includes the United States, the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, announced on June 5th that the Chinese military has been recruiting Western military talent to train its personnel. This statement, released by the U.S. National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) on behalf of the U.S. government and the other four countries, highlights that the Chinese military has been utilizing private companies in South Africa and China to hire active or retired Western fighter pilots, flight engineers, and air combat personnel to train Chinese Air Force and Navy pilots. They’re also recruiting experts with deep knowledge of Western military tactics.
