China’s Fake Food Reaches New Level: Ingredient List Lies, Instant Noodles Contain Zero Starch

The well-known Chinese snack brand, Bestore, is under fire. Customers hoping to enjoy a flavorful bowl of their sour and spicy noodles found out, to their dismay, that the noodles were made with synthetic ingredients instead of actual starch.
In China, sour and spicy noodles are a popular instant dish with a distinctive taste. However, anti-counterfeiting advocate Song Ge discovered that the noodles contained no trace of any starch, despite it being listed as an ingredient. Not sweet potato, not cassava, not even potato starch was detected in tests conducted over two months.
