However, the domestic collectibles market in China is rife with chaos. Counterfeits are everywhere; bronze artifacts claimed to be 3,000 years old are often recently produced. In Luoyang City, Henan Province, a “counterfeit relic village” produces forgeries so convincing that they deceive even archaeological experts, with some items ending up in museums. Without professional knowledge, it’s nearly impossible to purchase genuine items.
