China’s $1 Billion Dam Is About to Collapse! Reinforcement Piles Shrink From 12M to Just 2M

The supervisors were hugging and holding hands at a karaoke bar, while workers were cutting corners at the Minsheng Dam. Such a bizarre thing happened at the reservoir dam in Yong’an, Fujian, in 2025. According to the leak, the length of the anchor piles used to reinforce the dam was seriously shortened. The design required 12 meters, but the actual length was only 2 meters. For the core grouting section, instead of the required 4 bags of cement for each hole, only 1 bag was used, with over 10 holes. In August of this year, the other side of the dam already collapsed once. Ironically, there’s still a banner hanging on the construction site that says, ‘Prevent problems early, and keep the warning bell ringing.’ Meanwhile, the supervising company overseeing construction quality has already been enjoying special treatment at a KTV.
