Chinese youth have increasingly turned to purchasing annual memberships at Disneyland as a unique way to engage in their studies while embracing the concept of “doing the most painful thing at the happiest place in the world.”

This trend emerged last March, sparked by several young individuals who shared their experiences of studying at the Shanghai and Hong Kong Disneyland parks.
A university student from Hong Kong expressed to Haibao News that she chose the theme park as her study location because the uplifting music resonating throughout the park offered her solace amid the pressures of her academic workload.
She invested in the premier Platinum annual pass, priced at HK$4,998 (US$640), granting her year-round access to the park.
In contrast, the more economical annual memberships are available at HK$1,568 (US$200) for Hong Kong Disneyland and 1,399 yuan for the Shanghai location, allowing entry on most weekdays.

Although a single day ticket to Disneyland can cost several hundred yuan, many students find the annual membership a valuable investment if they plan to study there regularly.
