The Ministry of Commerce made the announcement in a statement released Thursday, naming unmanned vehicle firm Saronic Technologies, satellite company Aerkomm and subsea engineering firm Oceaneering International as the affected enterprises.

Companies added to the list are effectively banned from trade and investment in China.

Three other American firms – shipbuilder Huntingon Ingalls Industries, engineering and construction manager Planate and services provider Global Dimensions – were added to the export control list, restricting them from receiving Chinese shipments of “dual-use” items, products with military and civilian applications.
