On May 19, 2026, near Kamra Air Base in Pakistan’s Punjab province, a JF-17 “Thunder” fighter jet—considered by Pakistan as a key part of its air force—lost control during a routine training flight. The aircraft crashed into desert terrain and burst into flames. Two pilots were injured but managed to eject before impact and were taken to hospital.
