Beyoncé won the Grammy for best country album for Cowboy Carter, months after it was snubbed by voters for the Country Music Awards. Meanwhile, Chappell Roan won the Grammy for best new artist.

Beyoncé sat shocked in the audience for a moment after Taylor Swift read that the superstar had won. Once on stage, as Beyoncé thanked her family, cameras cut to her husband, rapper Jay-Z, and daughter Blue Ivy Carter standing and beaming in the audience.
Roan nudged aside Sabrina Carpenter to win the Grammy for best new artist, capping a remarkably explosive rise to fame for an artist dropped by her last record label.
The singer, emotional after receiving her first Grammy, took the stage sporting her signature drag-inspired make-up.
“I told myself that if I ever got to stand up here in front of the most powerful people in music, I would demand that labels and the industry profiting millions of dollars off of artists offer a liveable wage,” Roan said.

She expressed her own experience as a minor that was signed by a record label and eventually dropped from that contract, leaving her unable to afford health insurance.
