Argentina’s Navy Aircraft Face Off with China’s 380 Fishing Ships in a Night Standoff

Days after the Argentine military released footage of the surveillance operation, CNN analyzed open-source data from the non-profit organization “Global Fishing Watch” and confirmed the presence of 198 named fishing boats in the area by late February.
Among these 198 boats, over 80% were flying China’s flag. CNN’s analysis showed that nearly 10% were Spanish vessels, and 5.5% were registered in the UK or the Falkland Islands.
