Hong Kong’s annual signature Lunar New Year night parade returns on Wednesday with a bigger carnival to welcome the Year of the Snake and an estimated 100,000 spectators expected.

The Cathay International Chinese New Year Night Parade, organised by the Tourism Board, will take place between 8pm and 9.45pm in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Parade floats will feature the city’s six giant pandas, Hong Kong-style milk tea and snake motifs, among others.

1. Where are the best vantage points?
The parade begins at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre before heading north along Canton Road and then on to Haiphong Road and Nathan Road, ending outside the Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers on Salisbury Road.
