In the video, a bystander criticised the nurse, questioning: “Isn’t it your mistake that led to the bleeding? Isn’t it because of your problem?”

“I am expressing my apology, sister. I am sincerely sorry,” the nurse responded while still on her knees.

On February 18, a hospital official revealed to the media that the nurse was forced to kneel because the patient’s relative “continued insisting on an apology”.

“Our nurse had no other option but to kneel,” the unnamed official stated, adding that she did so out of concern that the patient might file a complaint that could jeopardise her job.

The official noted that the nurse is relatively new to the profession and may lack the work experience or emotional resilience required for such challenging situations.
