The case came to light when a woman filed a report with police alleging that she had been indecently assaulted by a man, 42, in Kowloon City and Kwai Tsing districts between May and November last year, a spokesman for the force said on Monday.

Investigators from the New Territories South regional crime unit followed up on the complaint made on November 13 and arrested the officer the next day in Tsuen Wan.

The Post learned that the accused was a superintendent in Kwai Tsing district.

The man was charged with one count of indecent assault and three of common assault after police consulted the Department of Justice.
