Five men have been arrested on suspicion of stealing more than four tonnes (8,818lbs) of dried fish maws worth over HK$2.2 million (US$282,614), with Hong Kong police saying robbers used rental trucks to transport the stolen goods in a bid to avoid surveillance.

Inspector Ng Wing-yan from Kwai Tsing police district said a trading company in On Fat Industrial Building in Kwai Chung was robbed of 150 bags of dried fish maws on Sunday.
The stolen goods then were transported to warehouses on Kam Po Road in Kam Tin and at Hi-Tech Centre in Sheung Shui using two trucks hired through different online platforms.
The incident was reported to police a day later. Officers found out that burglars transferred the stolen goods to several locations in an attempt to disrupt investigations.
Detectives successfully identified the suspects and the final destination of the goods.
