Pons.ai, based in the Hong Kong government-funded Science Park, operates what it calls an AI photo booth software that generates AI-designed avatars for people at corporate events.
Used in 85 events over the past year by enterprise clients worldwide, the company booked nearly US$500,000 in revenue this financial year, and is aiming to double that next year, founder and CEO Kelvin Tang said in an interview.
The company’s AI photo booth platform is built upon several large image models including Stable Diffusion, which it uses to produce digital avatars in specific styles requested by corporate clients. Its human engineers then fine-tune the results, and customers are offered services such as having the avatars on various products.
Pons.ai is among many firms developing generative AI applications to capitalise on the rapid development of large models.
