US president-elect Donald Trump on Saturday said that the world was “a little crazy” as he met France’s President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, his first international trip since his election victory.

“It seems like the world is going a little crazy right now and we will be talking about that,” Trump said, hailing the “great relationship” he had with the French leader.
Macron said it was a “great honour for the French people” to welcome Trump back to Paris for the reopening of the iconic Notre Dame cathedral, which was devastated by a fire in 2019 during Trump’s first term in office.
Macron scored a major coup in Trump’s acceptance of the invitation to attend the ceremony.
The pair were joined by scores of other leaders, with the event providing a unique chance to brush shoulders with Trump before the tycoon turned politician takes office in January.

Trump spoke with Macron inside the Elysee Palace before the Notre Dame ceremony, and they were joined by Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. The three leaders posed together for photographers and then met privately.
