Over 1,000 Chinese Firms Attend Munich Electronics Fair, Empty Halls Dubbed “Hall of Death”

Have you heard of the so-called “Hall of Death”? This is, by far, the most depressing exhibition I’ve ever attended. I’m at the Munich Electronica, the world’s largest electronic semiconductor trade show. Here in Hall C6, there are over 300 companies, all of them Chinese semiconductor-related businesses. The pavilion is decked out in vibrant red, symbolizing China, but instead of bustling crowds, there’s just a sparse gathering of industry peers and service staff. No clients. No foreign visitors. Truly living up to the nickname, the “Hall of Death.”
