The park said on Saturday a thorough consultation confirmed An An and Ke Ke were in good physical health, meeting all the requirements set out by authorities.

“An An and Ke Ke are both curious and eager to explore their habitat,” Ocean Park said.

They still need at least another 30 days to adapt to their recently renovated and expanded home at the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures enclosure before being ready to meet the public.

An An and Ke Ke, as they are called before being given their Hong Kong names, arrived in the city on September 26. The bears are a gift from Beijing to celebrate the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to Chinese rule.
