China’s J-10C Jets Deemed Low Quality; Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Serbia Cancel Orders

On August 29, French President Emmanuel Macron visited Belgrade, where Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced a major defense deal. Serbia has signed a contract to purchase 12 French-made Rafale fighter jets, a move Macron hailed as a “strategic shift” for the Balkan nation.
The deal was worth 3 billion US dollars, which means each Rafale jet costs around 250 million US dollars. It includes nine single-seat and three twin-seat jets, which will be delivered in 2029. These new jets will replace Serbia’s aging Russian-made MiG-29 and MiG-21 aircraft.
