The force said on Friday that officers from the New Territories South traffic unit intercepted the red Italian sports car on Tuen Mun Road during an anti-speeding operation on Thursday afternoon.

“The car was clocked reaching more than twice the speed limit on Tuen Mun Road near Ting Kau Bridge, posing a serious safety risk to other road users,” police said.

The driver, 46, also failed a drug test and refused to provide a blood sample, according to police.

An investigation revealed the man was driving without a licence as his permit had earlier been permanently revoked after he had caused a fatal road accident, police said.
