A public meeting on drug repurposing is held at 10:30 a.m. ET on Aug. 5 to examine considerations for selecting and prioritizing new uses for FDA-approved drugs.
Hosted by the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA, the meeting brings together representatives from federal agencies, clinicians, researchers, and patient organizations to discuss approaches for identifying promising drug repurposing candidates for unmet medical needs.
Topics include successful prioritization approaches; factors for selecting repurposing candidates; and scientific, regulatory, and policy barriers to advancing new treatment opportunities.
