Trump ‘not satisfied’ with Iran’s latest peace proposal as talks stall

US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was dissatisfied with Iran’s latest proposal for peace talks, as negotiations between the two sides remain stalled despite a weeks-long ceasefire.

“At this moment, I’m not satisfied with what they’re offering,” Trump told reporters.

Iranian state media reported that Tehran had submitted a new proposal aimed at ending the conflict that began with US-Israeli strikes on February 28.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the proposal was delivered on Thursday evening, though no details were disclosed. It was transmitted via Pakistan, which has been acting as a mediator between Washington and Tehran.

The agency quoted the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei as saying that ending the war and securing a sustainable peace remain Tehran’s primary objectives in talks with the US.
