On March 31, 2026, at 1:00 AM, the oil tanker Al-Salmi, carrying crude oil and originally bound for the Port of Qingdao in China, was struck by a precision drone attack from Iran near Dubai’s waters. The explosion caused by the impact tore apart the vessel’s hull, and a massive fire quickly spread, creating thick black smoke rising to the sky. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported.
