Some of the around 500 Guangdong motorists in the southbound travel scheme drove into Hong Kong’s urban areas during the Lunar New Year holiday for offbeat sightseeing and festive shopping.
Authorities said bookings under the “Southbound Travel for Guangdong Vehicles” scheme were “favourable”, with more than 500 cars entering the city in the early days of the holiday.
