Chinese Tofu-Dreg Construction Strikes Again! Crane Collapse on Thailand’s High-Speed Rail Kills 32

On January 14, a crane collapsed at a construction site along the China-Thailand high-speed rail route, a major project under China’s Belt and Road Initiative. The crane fell onto a train traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani, causing the train to derail and resulting in dozens of casualties. The construction company responsible for the project is the same one involved in the collapse of the National Audit Office building in Bangkok in March of the previous year. This company has close ties to China Railway No.10 Engineering Group.
