Trump Vows to Intervene if Iran Kills Protestors; Maduro Open to U.S. Talks

President Donald Trump on Jan. 2 vowed to come to the aid of protesters in Iran if they are killed by the regime in Tehran. An Iranian official responded, saying that U.S. interference in this internal matter would mean destabilizing the entire region and destroying America’s interests.
Venezuelan regime leader Nicolás Maduro said he is open to talks with the U.S. to combat drug trafficking, but did not comment on last week’s U.S. strikes on a docking facility. This is while the Maduro regime ramps up the detention of U.S. citizens in Venezuela.
