Passengers travelling on the Tuen Ma line on February 1 and March 8 next year will need to change trains at Hung Hom station due to rail track works, which are expected to add around four to five minutes to their journeys, according to Hong Kong’s rail giant.
The MTR Corporation said on Wednesday that normal train frequencies would be maintained on both days, which fall on Sundays.
“[The arrangement] will only affect passengers going through Hung Hom, which will extend their journeys by four to five minutes,” said David Chan Chi-hung, head of line group management for the MTR’s Tuen Ma line, Light Rail and Bus.

The arrangement was put in place to make way for the remaining rail track works between Hung Hom station and East Tsim Sha Tsui station, which involve adjusting the track alignment, slope, signalling system and overhead cable facilities.
Upon completion of the works, train rides would be smoother, Chan said.

The temporary changes will affect passengers travelling on the Tuen Ma line, which connects Wu Kai Sha in Ma On Shan with Tuen Mun.
