One week after its worst fire in decades, Hong Kong is searching for answers to the inferno that ripped through seven towers at Wang Fuk Court housing complex in Tai Po, killing at least 156 people, injuring dozens and leaving around 30 unaccounted for.

Prayers, respects and recovery
Thousands of mourners have visited a makeshift memorial near the estate to lay flowers and leave condolence messages.

Hundreds of officers from Hong Kong Police Force’s Disaster Victim Identification Unit (DVIU) have been deployed at the scene of the Tai Po blaze.
Investigators have been looking at the materials used in the HK$330 million renovation of Wang Fuk Court.
