Hong Kong has woken up to temperatures as low as 13.2 degrees Celsius (55.8 Fahrenheit), the coldest so far this autumn, according to the weather forecaster.
The mercury dipped as the Hong Kong Observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 13.2 degrees Celsius at its headquarters in Tsim Sha Tsui at 6am on Wednesday.
“Under the influence of an intense northeast monsoon, the weather was appreciably cooler over Hong Kong this morning,” a spokesman said.
The weather forecaster said temperatures could be one to two degrees lower in the New Territories, while the maximum temperature would be about 17 degrees during the day.
